I have developed a BEHIND THE BOOK presentation about the research which led me to the novel: Deer Park girls or “little birds” of Versailles who inspired the creation of Veronique Roux and the 18th century French midwife Madame du Coudray who helped me imagine Aunt Margot and Marie-Louise.
